The SearchDisc Encryption module uses DES algorithm to encrypt & decrypt data. DES is used in Cipher Block Chaining mode with KCS5 padding scheme, being a symmetric block cipher that uses 64-bit keys for encryption.

The searchable CD is password protected, hence unauthenticated users cannot access the data on the CD-ROM without a valid password. The only way the user can see the data is by providing a valid password. Once a valid password is entered, the user can either use the search functionality to access the decrypted data or can navigate through the links by browsing the CD contents. For the later option, the administrator should modify the links in the indexing documents to make the CD browseable and provide decrypted data using our software. The modification of links should be made before creating a searchable database. Contact ASTAware Technical Support Team to discuss your project specifications.

The current Encryption Module supports .html and .txt file formats. Many other file formats will be supported in the coming versions of this module. The available SearchDisc trial version doesn't include the Encryption module and SearchDisc Encryption Module trial version is not available at present.
