ONTARIO HYDRO LEVERAGES THE POWER OF ASTAWARE’S CASCADING TECHNOLOGY

ASTAware Technologies INC. ("ASTAware" / the "Company") is pleased to announce that Ontario Hydro Services Company Inc. ("Ontario Hydro"), a valued and long-standing ASTAware customer, has recently licensed the use of both ASTAware’s SearchDisc and SearchKey PRO.
ASTAware’s SearchKey PRO, the Company’s server-based search solution, deployed together with SearchDisc, its publishing solution, offers a powerful enterprise information management system allowing for independent indices to be tied together into one single knowledge base. ASTAware’s solution for simultaneous searching of independent indices is called "Cascading". Any search request sent to the Information Retrieval Service of SearchDisc can be passed on to an Internet or intranet website to retrieve the current information residing on any server hosting ASTAware SearchKey PRO.
Ontario Hydro's technical documentation currently resides on its intranet site. That information is also available in paper format, which documentation is both voluminous and cumbersome for their engineers to work with when they are in the field. Using SearchDisc, Ontario Hydro will now publish their documentation in a digital format to a CD-ROM and they will index the content on their intranet server using SearchKey PRO. Any updates to the information can be easily made on the intranet server and SearchKey PRO's incremental indexing function ensures that the newest information is always available. When Ontario Hydro's engineers are looking for information from the field, their search on the CD-ROM will cascade to the intranet site and ensure that they always receive the most current version of the information they need. The ability to retrieve static and dynamic information from both their CD-ROM and website concurrently will dramatically reduce their production costs.
