TRANSPORT CANADA SELECTS ASTAWARE SEARCHKEY PRO TO REPLACE MICROSOFT® INTERNET INFORMATION SERVER

ASTAware Technologies INC. ("ASTAware" / the "Company") is pleased to announce that Transport Canada Civil Aviation will replace their Intranet/Internet Microsoft Internet Information Server search engine with ASTAware™ SearchKey PRO. Effective April 1, 2000, Transport Canada will take advantage of ASTAware's enterprise search solution for accessing its regulatory collection from their CD-ROM's and Intranet/Internet webserver.
Transport Canada Civil Aviation had been using Microsoft's Internet Information Server search engine for sometime, however, they were looking to extend their Intranet/Internet functionality. They also needed a search engine for their CD-ROM that went beyond basic searching on Windows platforms only. ASTAware's JavaTM-based enterprise solution provides Transport Canada Civil Aviation with multiple platform support for any combination of systems including Windows, Macintosh, Unix and Linux. Transport Canada publishes thousands of CD-ROMs every year. With the deployment of both SearchDisc on their CD publications, and SearchKey PRO on their Intranet/Internet, the static information on their CD's can always be automatically updated from their Intranet/Internet information server. Moreover, they will also be able to ensure consistent search results between each media when used independently.
