ASTAware SearchKey PRO uses Boolean operators such as AND, OR, NOT, NEAR. Boolean operators are used to specify the logical relationship between two or more keywords. They allow you to broaden or narrow your search.
- AND narrows your search to only records containing both terms.
- OR broadens your search to records containing either or both terms.
- NOT restricts your search to the first item.
- NEAR narows your search to terms within a paragraph.
Exact phrase
You can search for an exact phrase (query containing more than one term) in a document by putting single quotes around the search term.
Proximity Search
You can search for terms that occur within a paragraph (query containing more than one term) by putting double quotes around the search term, provided the administrator has built the database(s) with paragraph option.
Wild card
You can use wild card search to get results that start with particular characters. For example, to get documents cotaining terms that begin with comp, enter comp* as the search term.
Radio button allows you to search for information in the specific category only.
Multiple Selection List allow you to search for documents tagged with specific topic.
Clear button resets the search form to default setting.
